Howard Shelley

British pianist and conductor, born March 9, 1950 in London. He studied at Highgate School and the Royal College of Music, and made his debut as a pianist in 1971. In 1985, he made his professional debut as a conductor. After having been Associate Conductor of the [a861944] from 1990 to 1992, he is now Principal Guest Conductor. He is married with pianist [a=Hilary Macnamara] and has two sons, one being [a931294]'s conductor [a5307597].
