Guillermo Cazenave

Born September 18, 1955 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After some first approaches for reasons rather familiar to the Scottish bagpipe with 7 years, influenced and totally interested in the beat and the natural rock rock of the 60's, in 1965 he would be given his first drum kit, in 1968 he would study in a more serious way by the hand of the artist Sam Lerman and [a5998199]. In 1969 he debuted with his school group, while his brother lent him a 2-track reel-to-reel Toshiba, with which he would record more than two hundred folk-style songs with neo-celtic touches. In 1973 he would leave the group and travel to New York, where he would work as a correspondent, making use of his second vocation after having studied journalism, collaborating in several magazines and having written about a dozen books. Five years later he would travel to London, where he finally team up and have his own recording studio. At that time I received guitar lessons and lived in a squat, making contact with musicians like [a207574] and [a65784], which would inspire him to found his own Astral Music label in 1983, settling in Sitges, introducing in Barcelona and consequently being pioneers along with the musician Ronald Lloyd in bringing New Age music to Spain influenced by the East. Until 1993 he would be absorbed by the New Age stream, but true to his ideas about Bio Music, perceiving that the style would be distorted, it would create its own group, called La Nave, where he would perform more symphonic things and raise the pulsations of his works. In this same year NASA, would include his piece "Fly High", along with pieces by other great artists on the last flight of the ferry Endeavor. In 1999 he would settle in the south of France, where he would write, record and play, sharing scene with some artist friends like [a754216]. Guillermo without being aware at that time of his role as a pioneer of music therapy, his intention to make self-produced music without compromise as [a207574] himself would advise, recording and thinking with criteria of durability as [a65784] himself would instruct him and with tuning systems, investigations on arithmetic proportions, modal scales and enharmonies greatly influenced by the East, in addition to various teachings on music, that the friend and great artist [a6565132] would contribute to his creation criteria. This criterion has led him to record more than eighty albums, this does not mean that his path was flat, not going through the filter of the record companies and authors' societies, would cause numerous problems, the official industry, along with the chains of distributors and their loyal journalists would ignore him and they would even separate him with the pretense of a rare person of dubious social status, nothing could be further from the truth. His multi-instrumentalist contribution, of his own composition, with great instrumental wealth and a very personal view on bio-music, esotericism and the harmony of the spheres, would not be understood by the industry, becoming a difficult product not being able to classify it in any specific style, they would cross the artistic barrier and they would define the same person as rare... The new embryonic age of which he pioneered raised a kind of musical connection to the infinite, fusing the divine nature of the human and art with Creation in every sense of the word. We can not only consider him a great research musician, writer and labor activist who help the world peaceful harmony.
