Γιάννης Μαρκόπουλος

Greek musician and composer. Born March 18th, 1939 in Heraklion, Crete, Greece. Died June 10th, 2023 in Athens, Greece. In 1956 Markopoulos moved to Athens to further his music studies at the Athens Conservatory under the composer [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/5013838-%CE%93%CE%B9%CF%8E%CF%81%CE%B3%CE%BF%CF%82-%CE%A3%CE%BA%CE%BB%CE%AC%CE%B2%CE%BF%CF%82]Yiorgos Sklavos[/url] and the violin teacher Joseph Bustidui. He composed music for theatre, cinema, television and dance. He founded a unique and special orchestra that combined symphonic and Greek traditional instruments, [a4175616]. In 1980, Markopoulos married the singer [a2026871], his long-time associate, and in 1981, their daughter, [a2527754], was born.
