Juan Laya

Born in Caracas - Venezuela, his musical influences are rooted in 1970s funk and disco sounds that spawned contemporary dance music. Coming from a very musical family, got very involved with music at a very early stage in his life. His mother, who was a distinguished vinyl collector, played an important role feeding him with various musical influences such as latin, rare groove, funk, disco and Jazz. Having worked alongside artist, producers and DJ’s like Joey Negro, Opolopo, John Morales, DJ Afro (los Amigos Invisible), Jose Padilla (Cafe Del Mar), Xantoné Blacq, Omar Lye-Fook, Cool Million, Leroy Burgess, Dimitri from Paris, Pete Herbert and Al Kent, Juan Laya has established his reputation as one of the main characters of the Disco-Funk scene in his base city: London, as well as the rest of the world. Juan Laya is also the songwriter and co-producer of Los Charly's Orchestra, The Boogie Man, Andre Espeut Quintet, Chennez & The Midnight Players.
