Jimmy Rip

[b]US guitar player, producer and songwriter who has worked with Mick Jagger, Jerry Lee Lewis, Tom Verlaine and Television amongst others.[/b] Grew up in New York and began playing the guitar at the age of 6. Later on he was heavenly influenced by The [a=The Rolling Stones], [a=Muddy Waters] and [a=Howlin' Wolf]. Played with Tom Verlaine since 1981 and he joined up with the group [a=Television] when in 2007 Richard Lloyd announced he would be amicably leaving the band. Later on he toured with [a=Mick Jagger] (he also co-wrote some material on "Primitive Cool"). He worked with a.o. [a=Bette Midler], [a=Kid Creole And The Coconuts], [a=Patty Smyth], [a=Mariah Carey], [a=Rod Stewart], Debbie Harry, Paul Collins & The Beat, Michael Monroe, Henry Lee Summer. In 1997 he released his first solo album called "Way Past Blue". Since 2010 based in Buenos Aires (Argentin) playing with his own band Jimmy Ripp and The Trip.
