The Exploding Hearts

American punk rock/power pop band formed in Portland, Oregon in 2001. The band released their first single [url=https://www.discogs.com/master/977587-The-Exploding-Hearts-Making-Teenage-Faces]"(Making) Teenage Faces" b/w "Your Shadow"[/url] in the fall of 2002, followed by their only album [m=204809] on October 18, 2002. A second single featuring demo versions of [url=https://www.discogs.com/master/492953-The-Exploding-Hearts-Modern-Kicks]"Modern Kicks" and "Busy Signals"[/url] was released shortly after in January 2003. The band announced on their website that a third single featuring "(You Left Me) Shattered" b/w "We Don't Have To Worry Anymore" was planned for release in April 2003, but the record was never released. On July 20, 2003 Jeremy, Matt and Adam died in a rollover accident on Interstate 5 north of Eugene, Oregon, after which the band ceased to exist. On October 5, 2006 the [m=295017] compilation was released containing demos, outtakes, rare tracks and singles from the bands career, along with alternate takes and mixes of tracks from Guitar Romantic. In 2014 Terry Six and Louie Bankston, the two surviving members, formed a short-lived band appropriately called [a=Terry & Louie]. Louie Bankston died on February 12, 2022. In 2023 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Guitar Romantic, Terry Six performed Guitar Romantic live at five US dates with [a=Murat Aktürk] on lead guitar, [a=Chad Savage] on bass, and [a=John Tyree] on drums.
