John "Turps" Burke is an Irish guitarist, singer and songwriter. from Tuam. He was one of the founding members of [url=http://www.discogs.com/artist/Saw+Doctors%2C+The]The Sawdoctors[/url], alongside [a=Leo Moran (2)] and [a=Davy Carton]. He quit the band in 1997 to pursue a solo career.
