Gino Cunico

Australian guitarist & singer born in Sydney, 1949, who began performing and recording at a young age. After some success with [a1271877], at age 20 he sought his fortune in the USA. Along with the guitarist of [a=The Executives (3)], [a=Ray Burton (2)] (also co-author of [i]I Am Woman[/i] by [a=Helen Reddy]), in 1972 Cunico released [m645898], produced by [a=Artie Ripp], co-founder of [l=Kama Sutra]. In 1974 [a=Clive Davis] founded [l=Arista] with artists such as [a=Barry Manilow], [a=Bay City Rollers], [a=Eric Carmen], and [a=Melissa Manchester], and Cunico debuted on Arista with the release [m=396956], produced by [a=Vini Poncia]. The LP also contains the remake of [i]Daydreamer[/i], [a=David Cassidy]'s 1973 hit. His solo career ended after this release, though he remained active as a songwriter and in roles behind the scenes.
