Isak Rypdal

Isak Rypdal is a Norwegian producer and musician. He is best known for productions such as Dr. No (Warner Music), Disco Valente (Bonnier Music) and Freeloader (EMI Music Publishing) / (Bigstar). His best success in Norway has been with Doctor No and the singles Lastima and La Luna which reached high positions on the Norwegian official sales list VG-lista Topp 20 in 2000 and 2001. The singles also reached #1 at MTV Nordic Top 5. Together with musical partner Bendik Gjevjon and Dr.No he toured with VG-Lista Topp 20s summer tour for several years, and in 2001 he played for around 50.000 people at Rådhusplassen, Oslo. After the success with Dr. No he released music under several aliases such as The Shining and Disco Valente. Disco Valente and the single I See Music made good reviews in British club magazines, and the single reached #1 at Scandinavian Dance Chart. In 2004 Isak Rypdal got his international break-through with Freeloader. The single Pure Devotion was supported by the big DJ’s such as Marco V, Dave Pearce, Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, Graham Gold, Johan Gielen, Blank & Jones and Judge Jules had it on his top 10 favorites list for over a half year at UK BBC Radio One. The single is alone compiled in excess of 750.000 units, and is also included on all Samsung mobile phones worldwide in 2005/2006. Isak Rypdal is also a producer of film music, and was in 2007 part of the soundtracks for the Norwegian movies URO and Mars & Venus. In USA he has been remixing and producing artists for the record company ISV Entertainment. At the moment he is busy producing the new band Electro Spectre.
