Henry Wells

American jazz trombonist and singer, born 1906 in Dallas, Texas. Worked with [a=Jimmie Lunceford] 1929-1935, [a=Claude Hopkins] 1932, and [a=Cab Calloway]. His association with [a=Andy Kirk] was interrupted by a period where he led his own big band, worked with [a=Gene Krupa] and [a=Teddy Hill] and served in the army. He recorded with [a=Rex Stewart] in 1946 and [a=Sy Oliver] in 1946-1948. In the 1960s he performed in California.
