René Jacobs

Countertenor and conductor of Baroque and early Classical music (born October 30, 1946, Ghent, Belgium). He founded his own ensemble, the [a=Concerto Vocale], in 1977. Jacobs regularly conducts such orchestras and ensembles as the [a=Concerto Köln], the [a=Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment], [a=Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin], [a=Freiburger Barockorchester], [a=Nederlands Kammerchor] and [a=RIAS-Kammerchor] for recordings and concert tours.
