Born: 1 June 1938 in Ealing, London, England, UK. Died: 19 January 1969 in London, England, UK (aged 30). British jazz composer, pianist, and band leader of trio, quartet, and quintet. Despite being a commended forward-thinking musician of the British jazz scene, and working with artists such as [a=Cream (2)], his albums did not sell well, and he exhibited increasingly erratic behavior throughout the second half of the 1960s, eventually drowning in the River Thames.
