Tim Dittmar

Tim Dittmar is a musician, radio host, recording and live sound engineer, writer, producer, songwriter, and professor. He is the owner/operator of [l=Las Olas Recordings]. Tim began his professional recording career in 1987 at Cedar Creek Recording studio in Austin, Texas. Before moving to Austin in 1987, Tim received his AA in Radio/TV Production at Del Mar Junior College. He then spent most of the nineties touring as a drummer, engineering records, and running sound on Austin’s 6th Street. Tim was hired in 2001 as a Professor and full-time Faculty member at Austin Community College where he continues to teach Audio Engineering I, Audio Engineering IV, Internship, and the Commercial Project class. Tim heads up the technical side of Music Business, Performance, and Technology at ACC. He also taught Audio for Motion Picture and Audio Production at the University of Texas between 2008 and 2010. Tim has worked in numerous studios in Austin, Los Angeles, and Chicago and has over 350 album credits to his name. He has recorded such artists as the Old 97’s, The Bright Light Social Hour, Dynamite Boy, King Missile, and Emily Wolfe. At present, he owns and operates Las Olas Recordings in Georgetown, Texas. You can also catch his radio show, Tones of Texas, weekly on Cygnus radio. Tim continues to record bands, drum, write songs, and record with his wife in the bands Annabella and March and Beauty.
