British-born Australian musician (clarinet), bandleader & songwriter (b. England 19?? - Worked with various bands in London (including 3 years with Jack Hylton). Started own band in 1938, playing at Fischer's Restaurant followed by Lansdowne House (replacing Brian Lawrance) in 1940. In Royal Artillery during WWII. At the Hotel Normandie, Beirut 1946, then returned to England and played with Geraldo. Had own quintet on "Mauretania" doing boat tours to Havana, Cuba. Arrived in Australia Sept., 1948 and led band at Celebrity Club 1948-1951 then Chequers Nightclub 1952-1955. Musical Director at Diaphon Records 1956.
