Wojciech Kilar

Polish composer, born July, 17th 1932, Lwów, Poland (now Ukraine), died December, 29th 2013, Katowice. He belonged to the Polish avant-garde movement of the Sixties (together with Krzysztof Penderecki and Henryk Górecki) and was well known as a composer of film scores for more than 100 films in Poland, France, Germany, and Hollywood, working with directors such as Roman Polanski, Francis Ford Coppola, and Jane Campion.
