Christopher Hogwood

Born 10th September 1941 Nottingham, England; died 24th September 2014, Cambridge, England. English conductor, harpsichordist, writer and musicologist. Co-founder with [a517156] of [a650601] (1967-1976). After Munrow's death, Hogwood founded [a837442], serving as Music Director from 1973-2006. He was Artistic Director of [a1706049] from 1986 to 2001. Awarded Commander of the British Empire (CBE) by Queen Elizabeth II in 1989.
