DJ Genesis

DJ Genesis began her career spinning at local nightclubs at the age of 19. Since then she has been showcased at festivals and clubs throughout the US. and Canada. In 1999 she founded the "Set It Off" tour that featured female dj's from Chicago, NY, and Houston. "The Set It Off tour was an outlet for female dj's who had been in the scene for awhile but never received the props they deserved." Co-headliners Heather Heart and DJ Heather collaborated in the historical tour billed as the "First ever female dj tour to hit the US." This tour was sponsored by XLR8R magazine and received attention nationwide with write-ups in LV City Life Newspapers, and others. She is also one of the many dj's to be featured at the second annual Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF). As a producer DJ Genesis is well known for recording on the downtempo D.C. imprint Eighteenth Street Lounge Records. The now out of print release called "agents Adrift" sold out in stores worldwide. Her track Bipolar which was featured on the Unknown Artist EP, received write ups in XLR8R magazine. IN 2000 she remixed Commons "Funky 4 U" which created a buzz at the Miami music conference and the Detroit Electronic Music Festival.
