Martin Rössel

Swedish musician, songwriter, music producer and author, born on April 8, 1959 in Bromma parish in Stockholm. After growing up and going to school in Bromma, first elementary school in Abrahamsbergsskolan and then high school in Bromma high school, Rössel dropped out in the second ring to devote himself to rock music. From the first school band Attacus at the age of 14, it eventually led to the meeting with Lars Cleveman in 1979 and the formation of the underground band Dom Dummaste. In addition to music production and songwriting, Martin Rössel has worked as a radio producer on Sweden's Radio P3, including on Morgonpasset in 1997 and on Frispel with Fredrik Grundel. Furthermore, Rössel also published the book Curare in 2020. With the free dancer Anja Birnbaum (born 1957) he has a daughter [a3331153], born 1989. In December 2002, Rössel recorded the song "Bomb Iraq", a satirical version of "If You're Happy and You Know It" which addressed the various political problems of the Bush administration and claimed that it was trying to shift the focus from these by letting the US lead in a planned attack on Iraq, which began in March 2003. The song was posted on the Internet and sent to some of Rössel's acquaintances, and over time became an underground hit all over the world. This led to a radio report on Sweden's Radio P1, "Att bomba Irak - vilken hit" ("To bomb Iraq - what a hit"), which received the 2006 Ikaros Award for best reportage in the Culture and Knowledge category.
