Richard Meltzer

Proclaimed one of the earliest rock music critics, his first book "The Aesthetics of Rock" was published by the legendary Something Else Press. Along with [a=Sandy Pearlman], he wrote lyrics for [a=Blue Öyster Cult] early in their history. Later he formed the punk band [a829231] in Los Angeles. In the 1990s he moved to Portland, Oregon and was the vocalist for [a=Smegma] for some years.
