Philippe Sellam

French saxophonist and composer, born 24 October 1960 in Algiers. Living in Paris. Has played with: Michel Petrucciani, Paco Sery group, Michel Portal, Roy Hargrove, Andy Emler, Mino Cinelu, Bernard Purdie, London Symphony Orchestra, Glenn Ferris, Maraca (irakere), Omar Sosa, François Jeanneau, Chico Freeman, Lumière Big Band feat. Gil Evans, John Scofield, European radio orchestra in 1991 and 1997, French National Jazz Orchestra, MC Solaar, Henri Salvador, Charles Aznavour, Claude Nougaro, Mangu, Wally Badarou, etc. Tours in Europe, Africa, Caribes, in North and South America. He has created music for TV, radio and advertisements and has run many workshops and master classes. Has played on around 100 albums. Co-leader of NoJAZZ band. His other projects : Sellam-Renne No Spirit, Sellam-Renne African Project, Andy Emler mégaoctet.
