Abd el Rahman el Khatib

Abdelrahman “Abdo” Elkhatib was an Egyptian musician born 1922, who relocated to Sweden in 1962 on a scholarship at Musikhögskolan Ingesund near Karlstad. He ended up staying as a music teacher in Södertälje, as well as being a practicing musician and recordng artist, sometimes teaming up with, among others, pianist and flautist [a304396] and Stockholm prog rock band [a1266106]. In fact, he also wrote the music for the Saudi Arabian National Anthem (as Abdul Rahman al-Khateeb or Abdul-Raḥman al-Khaṭīb) already in 1947. He died June 9, 2013.
