Phalen Tassie

American soprano, former child actress and vocal pedagogue. She studied with Francis Xavier Arens and was a student of Louis Graveure, Povla Frijsh, Frieda Hempel, Maggie Teyte, and Estelle Liebling, before returning to her native California on the faculty of the San Francisco Conservatory and specialising in American contemporary song, continuing to give recitals well into her 70s.
