George Haslam

George Haslam, Baritone Saxophone and Tárogató, born in Preston, England, 22 February 1939. Voted 19th All Time World Greatest Baritone Saxist in Japanese Encyclopaedia of Jazz. Led first British jazz group to play Cuba 1986, first British Jazzman to play Argentina 1989. Reknowned for his jazz adventures from Patagonia to Lapland, Vancouver to Hong Kong. Back home in the UK he has made several broadcasts for national radio BBC and many local radio and TV spots. Across the country he has played most major jazz venues and many festivals including London, Glasgow, Belfast, Oxford, Bracknell, Marlborough, WOMAD etc.
