Thomas Piesbergen

Thomas Piesbergen is a writer, vocalist and songwriter from Hamburg, Germany. In 1985 he started to play with guitarist Sven Anders in several bands, playing folk, industrial, noise and punk. In 1987 he formed the sixties-punk band The Clockwork Wizards with Sven Anders, Dan van Appen and Susanne Paul. In 1989 they released the album First Spells. The Clockwork Wizards broke up after touring Europe in 1990. After playing in several underground bands from 1991 - 1995 he joined the neo-kraut collective Passierzettel. Along with Martin Pozdrowicz and Thomas Siebert he forms the core of this constantly changing formation. 2004 he founded his first folkband. From 2006 - 2016 he organized and hosted the St. Pauli Folk Festival. 2007 Thomas PIesbergen cooperated with Urband Dub for their album Illegal Immigrants. In 2012 he founded the alternative folkband Ride Lonesome.
