Brendan Romaneck

Born April 6, 1981, in Colchester, Connecticut. Died April 2, 2005 in Jacksonville, Florida. The tenor saxophonist studied at Santa Barbara City College then transferred to the Univeristy of North Florida, where he studied saxophone with Bunky Green and composition with Keith Javors. After graduation, Romaneck was accepted into the Betty Carter Jazz Ahead national jazz residency program at the Kennedy Center. Shortly after he accepted a teaching assistantship at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville under pianist Donald Brown, Romaneck died unexpectedly. after being hit by a car. A CD titled Coming Together with many of his originals was recorded later that year and issued in 2009 by Inarhyme Records.
