Bohren & Der Club Of Gore

Dark jazz band founded in 1992 in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. Bohren & Der Club Of Gore was formed by members of various grindcore/hardcore and death/doom metal bands. In their search for a "unique sound", they started to play what they call "doom ridden jazz music". Initially the band was called "Bohren". In 1993, the name was expanded to "Bohren und Der Club of Gore" as a link to the Dutch band [a281981], which inspired Bohren to play instrumental music. in 1995 the name was altered to "Bohren & Der Club of Gore". The first real "Bohren und Der Club of Gore" release was a 1993 demo tape called "Luder, Samba und Tavernen".
