Bengt Ollén

Swedish conductor, guitarist and music educator, born August 17, 1950 in Lidköping, Skaraborg County. He studied at the Academy of Music at the University of Gothenburg for professors Gösta Ohlin and Gunnar Eriksson. Until 2017, Ollén was a conductor and teacher of choir singing at Stockholm Music High School. He has also been a teacher in choral conducting and ensemble management at the Municipal Music Institute. In 1981 he founded [a4662985] and in 1993 he founded Sofia Vokalensemble in Stockholm, which he still leads. Since the beginning of the 2000s, Ollén has been the conductor and artistic director of the Oratorio Choir VOX and the Södra Dalarna Chamber Orchestra, which performs annually at the Music Festival at Siljan. He is also the conductor of the Lunae Chamber Choir, which was formed in 2017. Ollén is a sought-after workshop leader, lecturer and jury member in choir competitions around the world.
