Jeff Olson (2)

Jeff "Oly" Olson was the original drummer and founding member of the doom metal band Trouble. He joined the band in 1979 and appeared on 2 LPs before leaving after 1985's "The Skull" to attend music school. Even after his departure, he still on the band's albums, often as a guest keyboard player. He rejoined the band in 1996 and appeared on the "Green Plastic Head" album but the group folded shortly thereafter. Oly was with the band when they reunited in 2004 but quit in July 2008, stating that he felt that he "was never truly taken seriously as a musician by the other guys in the band." He currently leads Retro Grave. Oly is also the subject of an urban legend which states that he originally quit Trouble in the '80s in order to become a preacher. The story was printed by Kerrang magazine and was never corrected by Kerrang despite being untrue. When he issued his statement about leaving Trouble in 2008, he made it a point to note to Kerrang that he was still not becoming a preacher.
