Brian Turner
Guitarist, ex-Music Director and radio host at [l=WFMU]. Brian was a member of [a=The Mad Scene] which also includes [a=Hamish Kilgour] from [a=the Clean], and [a=Georgia Hubley] of [a=Yo La Tengo]. Their LP release "[r=3550116]" ([l=Siltbreeze Records]) came out in 2012, produced by [a=Sonic Boom (2)] of [a=Spacemen 3]. Brian has also been in [a=Jowe Head] ([a=Swell Maps]/[a=Television Personalities]) band stateside. Played guitar on [a=Psychatrone Rhonedakk]'s "Qbico" LP, plus untitled project recorded with Marlon Kasberg from [a=Liquorball], [a=Ben Wolcott] of [a=To Live and Shave in L.A.]/Frosty/Oscillator, and [a=Don Bolles] from the [a=Germs]/[a=45 Grave]/[a=Vox Pop]/[a=Fancy Space People]. Also guitarist in [a=Äss], an "[a=Electric Eels]/[a=Monoshock] inspired classic rock covers band" fronted by [a=Andy Kman], who performed 1999-2000, then reunited for one show in 2013 which included [a=Sonic Youth] drummer [a=Steve Shelley] (which also featured Eminence Front on the bill, a band that did an extended cover of [a=the Who] song). The band's early 1999 performance on Terre T's Cherry Blossom Clinic was issued as a cassette "[r=6809285]" on [l=Ba Da Bing!] Records in 2014.
