Viktoria Modesta
Viktoria Modesta is a bionic pop artist and creative director. Brought up in the subculture of London, now living in Los Angeles, Viktoria is known for her multi-disciplinary approach to future-pop and performance art with a post-human edge. Her work bridges music, body art, sculptural tech-fashion, and an otherworldly narrative first on display with her viral hit video ‘Prototype’ and introduced her as the ‘world’s first bionic pop artist'. Modesta brings her unique aesthetic, experimentation, and future-focused vision to all of her creative outlets - from art and music direction, design, public speaking, DJing, acting, and to the world of science and medicine as an MIT Media Lab fellow and with the Global Innovation and Wellness community. Her life story has been recognised around the world as a testament of human strength and a truly transformative approach to modern identity with the highlight spotlight of Barack Obama as recognising her as 'Personal Frontier' featured in WIRED magazine. She first gave us a fresh and glamorous perspective of post-disability in a cultural way when she performed as the Snow Queen during the closing ceremony of Paralympics 2012 wearing a diamond-encrusted prosthetic, which led her to be discovered by Channel4 in the UK for the iconic ‘Prototype’ #BornRisky campaign video. Her distinctly elegant and futuristic character and outspoken wit has attracted features in many worldwide fashion and art publications, as well as exhibitions and documentaries. Viktoria’s live shows range from experimental art format at Art Basel Miami to full-blown concert productions and special events. Combining her sleek alternative pop music with art prosthetics, breath-taking visuals and some of the hottest designers and performers - merging music and cinematic drama into the perfect sci-fi fantasy. Her latest work continues to build on her vision - in 2019 she art directed and starred as the "Bionic Showgirl" at the legendary Parisian cabaret Crazy Horse (LINK), a residency spanning 31 sold-out shows. Following her time in Paris she art directed and starred in a stunning art film commissioned by Rolls-Royce Black Badge where she became the ‘physical representation of the machine itself’ view video. Viktoria is working on a new music release, consulting as well as expanding her ideas in the future human lifestyle space.
