Marc Vasquez

Short Bio: Producer, remixer & sound engineer of electronic dance music. Passionate vinyl DJ. label owner of ugk-records Germany with base in Heidelberg /rnk/ Germany. Long Bio: It started in the early 80ies in the area of Heidelberg / Germany when he was mainly listen and performing Hip Hop performances with his long term friend Christian Pachl. As they recognized that the conventional music from the radio became too boring, they started creating their own music through cutting loops from different radio stations on their old tape recorder They named it „radio key“ the key of music. This kind of doing became well known worldwide by different artist like chemical brothers, fatboy slim etc. Propelled by this experience, he immediately gained recognition as DJ in the Rhein-Neckar-Delta, driving home the new 90’s sound of technotrance at several events. Bookings for bigger events followed, several in cooperation with national artists. 1994 he became house resident at an small house club called “XIT”,in collaboraton with Simon Petter, with whom he rocked the house every thursday night, dusk to dawn. As consequence from this positive collaboration, Marc began working more with other DJs and Producers in the area, which resulted in an engagement in his second resident club, the “Untere Etage” (“Bottom Loft”) in Heidelberg. The contacts made there to the Techno scene helped him to develop his talents and to continue pushing his musical career he already had successfully begun. At the turn of the millennium, Marc (re-)discovered his love for radio, and through his connections with the guys of the club and scene guide Klangterrorist.de, he came to play at the radio station Bermuda Funk in Mannheim in 2003. Here he soon became part of the returning line-up, and also later took over the role of being responsible for national & international bookings such as Massimo Vivona, Dj T, Cari Lekebush and many many more. 2015 was the big breakthrough in his career. After a good 10 years of family-related off-time, marc is back in vinyl business together with Christian Pachl and Mathias Schlicksupp he founded "Vinyl & Live", a paired resurrection of elementary vinyl and live act performance. In the digital world real skills are golden, if not rare. UGK-Records is marc's first owned label in the deep techno genre, where several previously unreleased tracks and remixes have found their home. Limited vinyl series only.
