Just Banks
In 2006 Just Banks engaged the talents of the Bay Area-based collective Blaktroniks, who came up with the catchy vocals for his first vinyl release entitled 360 Degrees. Later he earned worldwide kudos for the funky breaks EP Bust A Move (featuring K-Sun aka MC Kemo) that was released in 11/2007. In May 2008 Just Banks’ remix of Lee Disco, a track by Cash Candy (the alter ego of Parov Stelar) climbed high in the Beatport breakbeat charts and got massive support and airplay around the globe. In 2010 he joined forces with New Jersey´s finest Shane Fontane to deliver the single “Dirty” on Proper Nightlife Records, a worthy successor to his last EP “Bust A Move”. With his productions and dj sets being caught in a crossfire of influences, they always represent a well selected and party-approved blend of different styles, tempos and grooves. By having a fancy for many different genres and playing gigs from Mexico to Greece his sets are like a sure shot for the demanding party crowd. His productions get supported by artists across the globe, including the likes of Fort Knox Five, Kraak & Smaak, DJ Icey, Ursula 1000, Jay Cunning, Tubbs, Tal M. Klein, Featurecast, Funkanomics and Qdup Foundation. His debut longplayer Under The Influence was released in June 2008 and demonstrates his remarkable versatility: Hip-Hop, funk, jazz, breaks and a pinch of minimal house come together here in flowing and coherent whole. Vocals come from the Blaktroniks, BluRum13 (as known from Dj Vadim & Ninjatune), Coppa, Kristina Lindberg (Laine), Veda36 and others. „Under the Influence” refers to all that wide range of contemporary musical genres Just Banks has opened himself to, explored, fallen in love with.
