Joey Colarusso

Austin, Texas saxophone player. Dr. Joey Colarusso is the Coordinator of Instrumental Music at St. Edward's University in Austin, TX. There he directs the jazz ensembles and the mariachi ensemble in addition to teaching the music theory classes. Prior to teaching at St. Edward’s, Joey taught applied saxophone and clarinet at Prairie View A&M University. He has performed and/or recorded with numerous local and international artists including The Nova Saxophone Quartet, Austin Symphony, Austin Lyric Opera, John Mills Times Ten, Johnny Mathis, Gino Vannelli, Michael Feinstein, Marvin Hamlisch, Kenny Rogers, Natalie Cole, Dick Dale, Olivia Newton John, 10000 Maniacs, Julie Budd, Aretha Franklin, Frankie Valli, The Temptations, Archie Bell and the Drells, W.C.
