Stranger The Horse

Stranger The Horse is a rock/indie band from Copenhagen, Denmark consisting of Julian Falck, Anders Christensen, Simon Dyhr, Lasse Storgaard and Jens Stoklund. Julian and Anders met for the first time in 2010 when Julian sat in for the drummer in a band that Anders was playing in. After further collaborating on an album by Karoline Munknæs (Julian as producer, Anders as guitarist), and both of them playing in Pernille Gunvad’s touring band, The Marines, the two guys decided to form a band. While playing loads of concerts at local Copenhagen venues like Rust, Klub Geyser, Operaen and Blaagaards Apotek, they recorded and released a number of songs that all were met with critical acclaim from radcircle.com as well as having one song included on the iTunes release Absolute Danish Artists. The band play homegrown roots music inspired by Ry Cooder, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and The Flaming Lips, as well as countrymusic, punk and various mexican bands. Stranger The Horse combines hauntingly beautiful songs with rock’n’roll energy, the borderless sounds of world music and tight vocal-harmonies. Especially when the band is playing live you can expect a rhythmic and alluring, strange but yet familiar universe. Julian Falck, the main songwriter in Stranger The Horse is no stranger to mixing various music styles and genres. Starting out as a drummer in his father’s band, only 11-years old at the time and playing live almost every weekend until his early 20s, Julian learned to navigate between country, bluegrass, blues and rock on any given night. He was further educated in music as a producer, as well as writing his own music, some of which has been used in Danish television productions such as ”Borgen”, ”Forbrydelsen” and ”Broen”.
