Reijo Heiskanen

Born in 1960. Finnish punk/postpunk guitarist. Notable for being in the new wave band Hassisen Kone in the early 80's till he was replaced by Jukka Orma. Contributed defining lines vignettes and solos in the style of Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd to the compacted classic pop-punk/altrock tracks running thru the first two Hassisen albums that helped define a new era in music. Somewhat overshadowed in the band leader Ismo Alanko's sphere of influence by the persistent latter presence of Jukka Orma in the Hassisen lineup for their 3rd LP and the collaborative venture Sielun Veljet which Alanko co-founded with Jorma in the post-Hassisen era. Despite being in the wings for a while Reijo returned for the 2000 reunion which resulted in the live album and DVD. Now acknowledged like all in the Hassisen family as a father of modern Scandinavian music. In later years he went on to become a successful economist.
