Hubert Jelinek

Austrian harp player and music instructor, born 1909, died 1980. He studied at the "Staatsakademie für Musik und darstellende Kunst" from 1922 until 1929 and soon made a name for himself as being a very gifted harp player. In 1936 he received the coveted post of first harpist of the [a=Wiener Philharmoniker] (Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra) and [a=Orchester Der Wiener Staatsoper] (Vienna State Opera). In 1954 he joined the faculty of the "Akademie für Musik und darstellende Kunst" (Vienna State Academy of Music) and was awarded the title of Professor in 1956.
