Connie Harvey

Singer-songwriter from Scotland Neck, North Carolina. Raised in Brooklyn, New York, Harvey made her recording debut as [a=Connie Laverne] in 1974. In the late 1970s she was studio vocalist in New York (often with her friend, [a=Jocelyn Brown]), collaborating with [a=Ecstasy, Passion & Pain] on three unreleased tracks and providing backing vocals for [a=Teddy Pendergrass] as one of his "Teddy Bears", alongside [a=Harriet Tharpe]. Paradise Garage favourite [m187190], mixed by [a=Larry Levan], featured Harvey's uncredited vocals. She is best known as a house music vocalist with releases in the 1990s on labels such as [l=Eightball Records] and [l=Bassline Records].
