Paulo Santos (10)

Brazilian jazz journalist, narrator, radio DJ and TV host. A member of the American Society of Disc-Jockeys (ASDJ). From 1945 to 1989, he presented his radio shows "Em Tempo de Jazz", "Cine Música", "Concertos Sinfônicos" and "Encontro Com O Jazz" at Radio MEC. In the late 70s, Paulo Santos also had his own TV show ("Nota Jazz") at the TV E (Tv Educativa) network. Also worked at Rádio Clube do Brasil and Rádio Jornal do Brasil, both located in Rio de Janeiro. Founder of the jazz society "Hot Club do Rio de Janeiro". Appeared as narrator in recordings (with [a=Hans Swarowsky]) and concerts of [a=Sergei Prokofiev]'s "Peter and the Wolf". Worked as MC of countless jazz concerts in Rio de Janeiro by such musicians as [a=Dave Brubeck]. Died in December 2009.
