La Familia (5)

Gangsta rap duo, formed in 1996 by [a=Puya (2)] and [a=Sișu Tudor] in Bucharest, Balta Albă (Salăjan) neighborhood. La Familia is considered one of the main pioneers of romanian hip-hop reaching their peak between late 90s & mid 00s. From 1997 to 2006 they released 7 albums, 1 extended play and many singles, but the band's continuity was interrupted along the way due to Sișu's 3 arrests. The duo had a well-known beef in 2004 with the band [a=B.U.G. Mafia] regarding the use of the name "La Familia", having several lawsuits, obtaining in court the right to continue using it. As a result of the event, Puya releases the single "Foame de Bani" (Hungry for Money), which is one of the most famous disstracks in romanian hip-hop. In 2008, Puya started his solo career and in 2011 they disbanded after several unsuccessful attempts to release any materials. In 2017, they reunited and released their ninth studio album: "Codul Bunelor Maniere" (The Code of Good Manners).
