Claes Merithz

Swedish conductor and clarinetist, born 13 August 1934 in Malmköping, Lilla Malma parish in Södermanland, died 4 February 2014 in Nacka. He was educated at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm. He studied clarinet for Professor Nils Otteryd. The studies ended with a debut concert in collaboration with Swedish Radio. Merithz received the Academy of Music's Rewards token, graduated in clarinet education and was awarded the Jenny Lind Scholarship. He studied clarinet and conducting for Antoine de Bavier in Italy.
