D. L. Menard
D. L. Menard (born April 14, 1932, Erath, Louisiana, USA - died July 27, 2017, Scott, Louisiana, USA) was an American Cajun guitarist, singer and songwriter. In 1962, he had a hit with "La Porte d'en Arrière," a humorous song about a hard-living Cajun who has to sneak in from his drinking and carousing by going through the back door. He was also a master craftsman who made chairs and children's furniture in a shop next to his home. He received many honors, including a 1994 Folk Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts.
