Max Sharam

Australian singer-songwriter (born 1969 in Benalla, Victoria). In first '80s she spent several years traveling around Europe where began busking. Carlo Picone, an Italian journalist of RAI TV news, saw an her performance in Florence and invited her to audition for [i]Forza Venite Gente[/i], a popular Italian rock opera, for which she earned a starring role, making also a musical tour throughout Europe for two years. In 1983 she received [i]Star of the Year Award[/i] at the [i]Cole Porter Festival[/i] in Genoa, releasing a 12" dance, [i]"I'm Occupied"[/i] as [a=Mex (10)], produced by [a=Carlo Picone], distributed by [l=Best Record] of [a=Claudio Casalini]. Her story was documented in an Italian TV program [i]The Girl with the Guitar[/i]. In 1995 she had three top 40 hit singles: [i]"Coma", "Be Firm", "Lay Down"[/i], from her Top Ten album [i]"A Million Year Girl"[/i], receiving 8 nominations at the [i]ARIA Music Awards[/i] and winning with [a=Dominic O'Brien] the [i]"Best Cover Art"[/i] of the year.
