Jaubi

Jaubi ("Jaw-Bee") is an instrumental quartet from Lahore, Pakistan. They take their name from an Urdu word that can be loosely translated as "whatever/whoever”. Creating whatever sounds and feels good is the group's guiding principle. In pursuit of this, they combine influences from North Indian classical music, modal jazz, and hip-hop. Their compositions are rooted in structured improvisation. Everything is composed by ear, and nothing is ever written down.
