Tim Oxley

Hailing from the far north coast of New South Wales, Australia, Tim Oxley is second youngest member of the talented Oxley offspring. Older brothers [a=Peter Oxley] and [a=Jeremy Oxley] had a mega dose of teenage fame with their band The Sunnyboys from 1980 till 1984 with their spiky yet melodic pop songs of adolescent angst. Their sister [a=Melanie Oxley] is a vocalist in her own right, having released 3 albums with her musical partner, [a=Chris Abrahams] (also a member of the avant-garde trio, [a=The Necks]). Tim is a singer, guitar player, drummer and songwriter, working his craft since leaving home at 17 years of age. [a1346304] was Tim’s first serious band, a power pop band. After the demise of Humdingers, [a530535] emerged but Tim ended the group to pursue his love of more laid back music. Joining forces with [a=Jodi Phillis] of [a=Clouds] fame (his wife), [a=Dearhunters], they released ”Red Wine and Blue” on the Candle Records label. With The Dearhunters on hold Tim joined forces with Trent Macnamara to form [a=Grandview (2)], an acoustic duo specialising in country pop. They released an album and toured the country for a year before Tim recorded his debut solo album ”It’s all about Love”. The album was given 4 stars by music critics in Australia and Tim played all major cities. It received album of the week on Melbourne's 3RRR. Tim’s second full length album entitled “Kitchen Songs” was given 4 stars by Sydney Morning Herald critic Bernard Zuel; “Kitchen Songs” was recorded, mixed, produced and mastered by Tim on pro tools. With his singing/songwriting wife Jodi Phillis, the duo "[a=Roger Loves Betty]" was formed in 2007; a lush, pop experience. They record all their albums in their home studio in coastal NSW, Australia. Tim played drums, bass, guitar, electric guitar and sung lead vocals and backing vocals. Tim played drums with Nick Cave at the prestigious AFI Awards in 2007. Tim has also arranged and produced songs for other artists. In 2008 Tim worked as music supervisor for the David Field feature film, “The Combination”, mixing the soundtrack and placing the music into the scenes. Most recently, Tim and Jodi composed the theme song for Toybox, a Channel 7 TV children's production.
