Thomas Gartz

Thomas "Mera" Gartz was a Swedish drummer, percussionist, multiinstrumentalist, sound engineer, artist and photographer, born in Stockholm April 4, 1944, dead April 29, 2012. He was an integral part of the thriving, Swedish progressive rock scene from circa 1970, and as a drummer in Träd, Gräs och Stenar and several of its most wellknown and important offsprings and offshoots in the early 1970s, he will forever be remembered as one of the key figures during an era that will be remembered for its playfulness, its creativity and lust for experimentation, its quirky sense of humour and its political and environmental awareness.
