Jeff Tarlton

jeff Tarlton has been a denizen of the Berlin music community since relocating from his home town of Detroit back in 1992. He fell in initially with the Eastern European shamanic music scene... touring with folks such as Atman (poland), Korai Orom (Budapest), and Ole Lukkoye (St. Petersburg). Whilst in the 80’s his band Viv Akauldren's music was classified as psychedelic, the current music media genre “Wyrd” fits most appropriately... informed equally by the Detroit milieu he grew up in the turbulent 60’s, it has reached its full bloom only after moving to the Old World in his quest to locate the source of his musical spirit. The later 90's saw two folk/electronic albums on the UK psych label Delerium, including then a fourteen-city UK Tour opening for label-mates Porcupine Tree. Along the way he put his distinctive stamp either singing or playing guitar as a session musician or featured collaborator, on essential Berlin music labels such as CitySlang, Kitty-Yo and Monica Enterprises. In 2011 Jeff was recognized as an historical figure in the definitive music history book Seasons They Change: The Story of Psychedelic and Acid Folk (jawbone press UK/USA). Most current is a track contributed to a Cold Spring compilation double-cd titled John Barleycorn Reborn: Dark Britannica.
