Perfect Heart

Perfect Heart formed in 1990 with the backing of a businessman. This led J D Sumner and other industry pundits to label them the "Million Dollar Quartet." The group began with considerable name recognition. Danny Funderburk had just completed a stint with the Cathedral Quartet. Jeff Stice and Aubrey Stephens had been playing for the Nelons. They made Singing News chart history when their very first radio single, "Somebody Touched The Lord," went to number one. That song went on to win Song Of The Year in the 1991 Singing News Fan Awards. Perfect Heart was also recognized as the favorite Horizon Group in 1991. Funderburk left after a few years and was replaced by Garry Sheppard. Bass singer Mike Presnell left in 1998, but re-formed the group in 2008.
