Per 'Texas' Johansson

Swedish jazz musician (woodwind instruments) and anaesthetic nurse, born on March 18, 1969 in Solna, Uppland. Per 'Texas' Johansson grew up in Södertälje, Södermanland where he started playing clarinet at an early age, but later explored and performed with more of the woodwind group of instruments as well. During 1990s, he released several critically acclaimed jazz albums but had also made a trip to Tanzania in Africa. On this trip, he met a Norwegian male nurse by chance and they started talking and became acquainted. Around 2000 and back in Sweden, he enrolled at The Swedish Red Cross University in Stockholm. After finishing training there as nurse, he worked first at the emergency departments at Södertälje and Huddinge hospitals, and, after further training, as anaesthetic nurse at Huddinge hospital, from 2003 to 2016. In 2015, his new album 'De Långa Rulltrapporna I Flemingsberg' was released. The titles alludes to the escalators he had to stand on every morning before reaching his work place at Huddinge hospital in Flemingsberg. During the years at Huddinge hospital, he spent 20 percent of this time as a musician and 80 percent as an anaesthetic nurse. But, due to having many new concerts after the release of this new album, he chose to return to music fulltime. Per 'Texas' Johansson and the artist [a749906] are not married , but they have lived together as a couple in the Greater Stockholm Metropolitan Area since the late 1990s.
