Burning Velvet

Alias of Danish singer/songwriter and home recordist Nicolai Wøldike Schmith. Based in Svendborg. As Burning Velvet NWS plays very lo-fi americana, mostly using classic instruments and gear like the Epiphone guitar from 1944, an open back banjo, the old electric guitars from Sears in the 50’s and the Höfner club bass, reel tape recorders, ribbon microphones, white noise and vinyl. Live Burning Velvet is NWS, usually accompanied by Rasmus Skovgaard (guitar), Mads Stephensen (drums) and Anders Wallin (bass).
