Tommy Seebach

Danish singer, keyboards player and composer (September 14, 1949 - March 31, 2003) who enjoyed chart succes from the very start of his career when he joined [a=Sir Henry & His Butlers] which he left in 1977. He continued in the 70's and 80's as a solo artist until alcohol addiction gradually took over and ruined his career. After his death his skills as a pop composer has been praised by fellow musicians. In 2019, a small square in the city of Frederiksberg, where he lived for many years, was named after him; [i]Tommy Seebachs Plads[/i]. In 1979 he came in 6th in the Eurovision Song Contest with "[m=666651]" and in 1981 11th with "[m=536054]" (Duet with [a=Debbie Cameron]), He participated several times in the Danish national ESC in the 1980s (1980, 1982, 1984, 1985 and 1987) without winning. He participated again in the Eurovision Song Contest 1993 with the entry "Under stjernerne på himlen" but came in 22th (Out of 25 entries) and Denmark was relegated from competing in 1994. He's the father of musicians [a1071807] and [a=Rasmus Seebach]
